Best Individual Provider: Kindra Weston

Midwest Mental Health was opened in December 2015 by Kindra Weston, LMHC, NCC.  It was originally a distant dream that became a reality very quick.  I wanted to open a private practice, thus my husband and I started looking for a location.  We found a building and started renovating within a two-week time frame.  The building was torn down to the studs and completely reworked.  We house five therapy offices, break area, restroom, filing office, reception area and a waiting room.  We opened our doors just over a month after the renovations were started.  We are in an old building in downtown Shenandoah, IA.  Many people remember our building as the old “Bernings Café”, but it looks quite different in appearance now.

The concept for our clinic was derived from the idea that people/families in our community needed access to a facility that offered a more comprehensive mental health program.  We solely focus on mental health and strive to provide the best patient care possible.  Our services include family therapy, marriage counseling, medication management, individual therapy, play therapy, EMDR, BHIS and more to come in the future.  We are constantly working to expand our staff of providers, as well as the number of services we offer to the community.
